Toothpaste is either a paste or gel used to clean and maintain the teeth. Toothpaste is used to promote oral hygiene. It can aid in the removal of dental plaque, food from teeth, eliminate or mask halitosis, and deliver active ingredients such as fluoride in order to prevent tooth and gum disease known as gingivitis. At your bi-annual dental cleaning and examination with Dr. Chernin at her New York City dental office, she will discuss what toothpaste is best for you, and will provide a free toothbrush and free samples of toothpaste (Sensodyne, Colgate, Crest, etc.) and floss after your visit.
