Resin used by Dr. Chernin at her New York City office of Forever Teeth is a new economical product using glass particles in a plastic matrix. She bonds the putty-like material to the tooth with a high-intensity light, which hardens the material and allows it to be shaped and polished for immediate use. Once the process is completed the tooth has a natural appearance and is stronger than before. Resin restorations not only look better, but they are stronger and last longer than the old silver-amalgam fillings.
